Description

The Burundi Masha refers to the Masha community washing station in the Kayanza Province. The word “Masha” itself literally means that it’s an area filled with many cows. Small scale farmers throughout the region bring their ripe coffee cherries here, where they can be de-pulped, fermented, and washed. During the harvest season, the Masha station is abuzz with activity as nearly 2,500 farmers and their families visit from communities near and far.
