Notes of apricot and berries finished with a bright acidity.

Description

Grown in Sidama, the Ardi is a unique Ethiopian heirloom variety that gets its name from Ardipithecus Ramidus, a 4.4 million year old fossil hominid found in the Great Rift Valley. The harvest this year was bountiful and flavorful thanks to healthy rainfall during the growing season. Expect notes of apricot and berries paired with a full body and bright acidity.

Coffee Origins

The Ardi is washed, dried and packed into burlap bags at Adola mill in Sidama, Ethiopia. Here we see workers at the mill checking washed beans for defects. These beans are being dried by the sun on raised drying beds.

Here we see more of the layout of the many drying beds located at Adola Mill. The blonde strips in the picture are washed beans (beans that have had the fruit of the coffee cherry totally removed) while the brown are natural beans (beans that still have the dried fruit of the coffee cherry surrounding them).
